I just loved meeting the H. Family for a 30 minute lifestyle session this past fall! I am usually chasing toddlers around (which I love), but it was a fun change of pace to work with older kids - but still young enough to easily get those fun, candid smiles! I always try to capture a good mix of those candid-looking pictures as well as some traditional portraits, just so you can pick and choose your favorites! This session is a great example of that!
Lake Sammamish State Park has to be one of my top 5 favorite locations because it offers a great variety of scenes in a small area - a beach along the waterfront, a bridge, an open field with tall grass, a rustic fence, a boardwalk trail through trees, and a walk in the woods!
This particular day we had a lovely overcast which gave us that soft, even light, so we had the freedom to move around the park without worrying about harsh light shadows we would've had with a sunny day! I love shooting in all kinds of light, and each come with their own set of benefits, but light diffused by the clouds is always so flattering!
If you're interested in learning more about my photography, I'd love to hear from you!
